Campaign Story
My name is Savannah and my husband’s name is Javier. We have struggled to conceive for four long years and decided to seek help from a fertility specialist in 2023. In that time, we have discovered that our challenge is overcoming male factor infertility. We are hoping to start treatment as soon as possible.
My husband was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive cancer at the age of five years old. He had large tumors around his heart and lungs that grew every 24 hours. The doctors had no treatment they could offer, so his family left their home country and everything they had to seek medical care in California. They were told the only thing they could try was experimental chemotherapy. Before signing the papers to agree to this treatment, they often heard, “if the cancer doesn’t kill him, then, the chemo will.” They were told on the off chance that he did survive, that he would not be able to walk again or have normal motor functions. Miraculously, he was healed, running around, and fully cancer free before his treatment plan had even ended. Praise God!
Fast forward to the present, and we’ve been informed of yet another miracle, that my husband does in fact have live and active sperm considering his medical past. However, we will still need medical help in order to conceive. Insurance does not cover such treatments and payment is due in full before we can begin the process. Our clinic generously gave us a pastors discount but the cost is still significant. We have undergone 4 intrauterine Inseminations this past year and are told from our doctor that our best option is to move to IVF (a more aggressive procedure) in order to meet the children that God has for us. She believes that we are excellent candidates for IVF to be successful.
